1) That's the problem... Does excellent certs and resumes means
you can do well as a government? Do bear in mind that the Cabinet
is only a small proportion of the government; but how about most of
the backbenchers? Are they chosen/voted in because they are good,
or are they in because they form a GRC group with our dear Cabinet
ministers?
2) If my dream and ambition was to help Singapore achieve a even
lower crime rate, I would sign on as the Police regular. In my
case, it's not like I would have nothing to do if I don't; I would
do things that interest me, even though it is not in my interest.
For others, I cannot say.
3) Election deposit equal MP's monthly pay. So for a GRC of 5 pple,
for an election deposit of 65k sgd, it is now raised to 78k
(supposed only 20% pay hike). This makes it even harder for the
opposition to compete. Imagine the amount of publicity you can gain
with that 13k
